Heres an illustration i did recently just for fun. My version of the iconic Tripod creature/alien. The creatures are somewhat insectoidbut also mechanical as well. The original composition was reversed. I tried have a flowing view path. Color selection was based on the star wars concepts for Mustafar planet.

Illustration depicts the Tripods reigning over the destroyed city and perhaps building digging underneath the rubble. Note, i did not follow the story of war of the worlds while painting this.
